Q. How much does a handmade kitchen cost?
A. This obviously depends upon a lot of factors, but to give an idea our handmade kitchens start at approximately 25k excluding appliances and bedrooms approximately 10k
Q. What is the procedure, where do we go from here?
A.
1.
Initial meeting between Jamie and client (usually at our showroom) regarding proposed project, to discuss outline requirements and budget.
2.
Site measure to get a feel for surroundings and architectural influences etc and discuss brief in more detail.
3.
Design initial plans with state of the art computer aided design before, arranging second meeting with client.
4.
Presentation of proposed project takes place at our studio and amendments can be made if necessary.
5.
Quotation is calculated once a suitable design has been agreed.
6.
Initial deposit is required to release scale drawings and secure an installation date (usually 12 week lead time but
can vary).
7.
Manufacture of furniture is undertaken at our own premises in Pott Shrigley where clients can, if they wish, call in for a coffee and see their furniture being created by our skilled craftsmen.
8.
Furniture is delivered and installed by our fitters to the highest possible standard.
9.
Final inspection by Jamie to ensure all aspects of the project have been completed to the highest standard possible.
Q. How long will it take to fit our new kitchen?
A. Average 2 weeks plus other building alterations, electrical, painting and tiling work.
Q. Do you supply appliances?
A. Yes, we supply most brands of electrical appliances, sinks and taps.
Q. What are payment terms?
A. 25% Deposit
50% Upon Delivery
25% Balance upon completion
Q. What are your lead times?
A. Approx 12 weeks, but this can vary.
Q. Can we have a set of drawings of our proposed kitchen?
A. Yes, upon receipt of initial deposit.
Q. How far do you travel?
A. 99% of our business comes from within a 20mile radius but further distances would be considered.
Q. What types of wood do you use?
A. We can buy almost any timber you require (from sustainable sources only), the most popular being; European Oak, Pippy Oak, Ash, Walnut, Cherry, Maple and Tulipwood for painted furniture.
Q. What are your carcases made from?
A. We use 19mm Oak veneered plywood which is a far superior product compared to MDF (medium density fibreboard) or MFC (melamine faced chipboard), used by many of our competitors.
Q. Do you make other types of furniture?
A. Although we specialise in kitchens, we are also able to undertake other projects such as bedrooms, bathrooms and home studies. We regret that small individual items of furniture will normally only be made as part of a larger project.
Q. What types of worktops are available?
A. There are numerous materials available to complement any kitchen including the most popular of them all - granite. This is available in many colours which vary in price. Silestone is also a popular man-made alternative to granite with the added advantages of containing Microban and being stainproof. Solid surface worktops including Corian and LG Hi-Macs, and solid timber worktops are also excellent choices.
